A barebones game framework that was made for the Stop Killing Games Community Jam. Made in 1 week with no previous knowledge of game development. Created with Godot. Unfortunately I was not able to submit it on time (missed it by 20 mins!) so there's no link to the Game Jam's page.

Use the arrow keys to walk around, and Z to attack with a sword. Alternatively you can walk around with WASD and attack with K. No mobile support planned at the moment (although it does load on phones!).

Goals for the future (in no particular order):

  • UI and HUD
  • Save/Load state
  • Scene manager
  • Start menu
  • Simple music implementation
  • lighting system (right now they're all baked in)
  • NPCs
  • Dialogue 
  • Basic story system

I imagine once I have gotten the framework down to where I am happy, I will start making my own assets and branch it off into another game. Because my ultimate goal is to make a post-apocalyptic top down RPG with sci-fi elements and a mystery story.
